Longwing is an idea inspired by the desire to bring together head and heart, intellect and consciousness, technology and Nature, in a way that sustainably improves life on Earth.
We aim to provide a bespoke, place-based land stewardship portal to farmers, ranchers, and conservation organizations.
We believe the human economy and Nature's economy can be reconciled with thoughtful observation and intentional long term action.
Longwing started with a simple, almost unglamorous practice: testing soil, water, and plant tissue to understand what's actually happening within the living ecosystems that produce our food. That practice is still the anchor of what we do. But the more time we spend with growers, land stewards, and the scientists who study how these systems actually function, the clearer it becomes that this is about something larger than lab results.
This is a genuine discovery phase. The exact shape of what we build, where we build it, and who we build it with is still being worked out in dialogue with the people on the land already doing this hard work, not decided in advance and announced.
If there's a thesis underneath all of this, it's this: the businesses with the best chance of lasting a long time are the ones that make the land healthier the longer they operate, not despite their business model, but because of it. Regenerative land stewardship requires synthesizing numerous complex data streams into a holistic picture of the forest, the trees, and all trophic levels down to soil microbes and fungi.
Notes from the discovery phase.

Why we're starting with a question, not a pitch
Most companies in this space lead with a product. We're leading with an open question instead: what would it actually take for a business to make land healthier for as long as it exists? We don't know yet, and we think that's worth saying plainly before we do.

This is better figured out with company than alone.
If you work in regenerative agriculture, land stewardship, conservation biology, or impact investing, or you just think hard about how we take care of land, we'd like to hear from you. No pitch, no sales conversation. Just a conversation.
